Who is unremarkable?
I am. Just me.
As a solo and independent game developer, I am the one-man band behind the games. I juggle every role from programmer to composer to marketer. This gives me the freedom to create any game I can dream of, but it's also a challenging balancing act. My mission is to avoid perfectionism, keep scope reasonable, and ship high-quality, but unremarkable, games for your enjoyment.
My path to game development wasn’t straightforward.
I started my professional career in the U.S. Navy, serving for six years, followed by stints at a small security company and a startup game company that didn't make it. For the last twelve years, I've been a software engineer at a major tech company, where I climbed from SDE 1 to Sr. Engineer. Despite my success, I felt increasingly burned out and disconnected from my childhood dream of becoming a game developer. That is going to change.
In December, I am taking a leap.
I will be leaving my job to pursue game development full-time. The difficulty selector is set to hard mode, as I will also be taking my supportive wife and our five kids on this journey with me. My wife is brilliant, and after 20 years of marriage, she knows me well enough to keep me on track. My kids are my play testers. This is going to be fun, right?
Follow for updates and thank you for playing my games.
